In addition to these categories, Christianity Today will also be naming a Book of the Year, chosen from the entire pool of nominees by a panel of CT editors. This award is a special recognition of a book that has made significant contributions to the world of Christian literature.
The nomination process for the CT Book Awards is designed to be inclusive and accessible to authors and publishers from all genres and levels of expertise. To be eligible for nomination, a book must be published between November 1, 2024, and October 31, 2025. We are looking for scholarly and popular-level works and everything in between. A diverse panel of scholars, pastors, and other informed readers will evaluate the books.
Authors and publishers can nominate as many books as they wish, and each nominee can be submitted in multiple categories. The entry fee for larger publishers is $40 per nomination, while smaller publishers pay $20 per nomination. Self-published authors can submit their books for $10 per nomination.
Finalist books will be announced and notified in advance, and authors will be required to send a copy of their book directly to each judge assigned to their category. We will provide mailing addresses for each judge.
The deadline for submitting nominations is Thursday, July 3, 2025. This is a critical deadline, and we encourage all authors and publishers to submit their books as soon as possible. Questions about any aspect of the process? Email us at bookawards@christianitytoday.com.
This year’s award categories and nominees will be announced in December at christianitytoday.com, and will be featured in the January/February 2026 issue of CT. Publishers will also have the opportunity to participate in a promotion organized by CT’s marketing team.
