The Origins of World Day of the Snowman

The World Day of the Snowman was created by the American Library Association (ALA) in 2011. The idea was born out of a desire to promote literacy and a love of reading among children. The ALA partnered with the National Education Association (NEA) to develop a program that would encourage kids to read and learn about snowmen.

Key Features of the Program

  • Children can enter the contest once per week by checking out books or completing themed activities and crafts.

    7:00 p.m. Dinner: The cafeteria will be serving pizza and salad. 7:30 p.m. Family Fun Night: The library will be hosting a family fun night with games, crafts, and activities for kids. 8:00 p.m. Movie Night: The library will be showing a family-friendly movie. 9:00 p.m. Wind Down: The library will be hosting a wind-down session with guided meditation and relaxation techniques. 9:30 p.m. Closing: The library will be closing at 10:00 p.m.

    Winter Wonderland at the Library

    As the winter season approaches, the local library is gearing up to host a series of fun and engaging events to bring the community together. One of the most anticipated events is the Winter Celebration, taking place on Saturday, January 18th from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

    A Free Build Day for Kids
