The General McPherson Camp No. 1 of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War (SUVCW) will hold its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. on April 21 at the Community Room of “Guess Who” at 3609 Guess Who Drive in Bentonville. The SUVCW is a fraternal, patriotic organization, founded in 1881 that is made up of descendants of Union soldiers, sailors, Marines or government officials who served during the Civil War. This is an excellent opportunity for local veterans and their families to come together and discuss current events and historical topics. The organization aims to preserve the legacy of the Union soldiers who fought for the country’s unity during the American Civil War. As the first national organization of its kind, the SUVCW has been in existence for over 140 years, providing a sense of community and camaraderie to its members.

The Washington County Democratic Party will hold their monthly meeting from 6-8 p.m. on April 21 at their headquarters, which is located 1102 S. Thompson, suite G in Springdale. The program will be presented by speakers representing the Children’s Safety Center and NWA Center for Sexual Assault, and will cover updates on the conclusion of the session of the Arkansas Legislature at the State Capitol.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to learn about volunteer opportunities at regional farmers markets and hear about the efforts of the local Democratic Party to promote community engagement and social justice.

The Northwest Section of Arkansas Mutual UFO Network will meet from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. on April 26 at the Arkansas Air and Military Museum, 4290 S. School Ave. in Fayetteville. The meet and greet for new members will take place from 10-10:15 a.m., and the meeting room will be open at 9:30 a.m. for early arrivals.
The agenda for the meeting will include presentations on Arkansas UFO/UAP case reports, an update on the Pathways to Disclosure Project, and highlights of the Ozark Mountain UFO Conference held this month in Eureka Springs.
Bentonville Public Library Books on Main Adult Book Club

The Bentonville Public Library will launch a new book club time to accommodate readers who prefer to be out during the day. Books on Main Adult Book Club will meet from 1-2 p.m. the third Thursday of each month in the new Baggett Book Club Lounge at Bentonville Public Library, 1101 S.W. Citizens Circle.
The next meeting will be on April 17, featuring “Horse” by Geraldine Brooks. Registration is required for book checkout, and readers can reserve a copy of the book through the library’s events calendar.

The Arkansas Pottery Festival returns for a fourth year to the Community Creative Center from May 2-4 in downtown Fayetteville. This three-day event is free and open to the public.
The festival will include pottery demonstrations and lectures by nationally recognized artists Brad Schwieger and Lorna Meaden on Friday and Saturday. Visitors can enjoy an exhibition and pottery sale of more than 50 potters from around the region, as well as an exhibition of master works from private ceramics collections.

This is a great opportunity for book lovers to come together and discuss their favorite books in a supportive and relaxed environment.
The Community Creative Center celebrated its 15th anniversary as an independent arts education nonprofit in 2024. The CCC offers a wide range of classes, workshops and outreach programming in fine arts and crafts to all ages, including special free programs for seniors and veterans.
The CCC’s McCoy Gallery hosts art exhibitions year-round, as well as handmade crafts and original art for sale, open Monday through Saturday. They hold several free public events throughout the year, including Pottery on the Patio, Dias de la Muertos and the Holiday Market.
The event also includes the annual handmade flower and plant sale fundraiser, with a wide selection of affordable handmade planters and locally grown plants. Buy a planter, get a free plant for a great Mother’s Day gift. Concurrent events will include the UARK Ceramics student sale and exhibition.
Attendees can enjoy the festival’s outdoor patio, where they can mingle and enjoy live music and refreshments.
The festival is open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. May 4. Located in downtown Fayetteville right across from Theatre Squared at 505 W. Spring St.
